Geely Secures Full-City L3 Autonomous Driving Test Permit in Hangzhou for Zeekr 9X
[Technical Breakthrough] Zeekr 9X, under Geely Auto, has obtained a citywide L3-level autonomous driving road test permit in Hangzhou.
Core Development: Nation’s Largest-Scale L3 Testing Launches in Hangzhou
The Zeekr 9X, equipped with the Qianli Haohan H9 solution, is authorized to conduct tests across the entire 9,224 square kilometers of Hangzhou and on over 1,500 kilometers of expressways and arterial roads—the largest coverage area and longest mileage approved for L3 testing nationwide. The vehicle will integrate real-time traffic data from more than 7,000 intersections in Hangzhou to validate its performance across diverse urban and highway scenarios.
Key Metrics: Dual Support from Hardware and Sales
The system features five LiDAR units and dual Thor chips, delivering a total computing power of 1,400 TOPS, meeting L3 safety redundancy requirements. In December 2025, Zeekr delivered over 30,000 units, bringing its annual cumulative deliveries to 224,000 units, with the Zeekr 9X surpassing 10,000 units in monthly deliveries for the first time.
Strategic Foundation: Accelerating Compliance Ahead of L3 Regulations
Geely plans to roll out highway L3 and low-speed L4 capabilities by 2026, with the Zeekr 9X potentially becoming one of the first compliant models on the market. Concurrently, the company is building the nation’s largest autonomous driving corpus to drive synergistic advancement between technology and regulation.
